Exactly what it says on the tin.
I'm interested to see if anyone has any unique ideas for things we could do within the game as an event.
The important thing is that your idea isn't "a bash but with.." although feel free to submit any really cool ones like that, just in case.
The reason I say that is whenever I ask for event ideas, everyone immediately suggests a bash with a difference. You can do a lot more than that, the MUD is cool like that .
We had a Lemmings event previously (for example), we've had dragon bashes, team sorc wars (and morts vs wizzes). I've heard tell of a boxing match. We had a Big Brother house event once.
So please write any suggestions down here, as long as they don't involve edible, anti-summon hat-wafers. Thx

Spektakular.
Treasure hunt ... find the most sticks, collect the most flowers, catch the most mobiles .. and take to central place/Wiz.
Quiz
Tag / british bulldog ( if enough players on ) - pass the black spot and get back to base
Capture the wand ( 2 teams ... u get the idea )
Treasure bash - swamp all the T
hide and seek .. find the wiz in the least moves from start location
Mage wars
The great egg race - provide Land items and see who can make best items / weapons / transport etc. - needs wiz mods to do?
Blind mans mud - blind all personae and see who can do best in 30 mins
Pin the pointy stick on the mobile - lock an area, with a mobile - pony, boar etc. and see which mortal can pin the tail on it .. a pointy stick!
Pinyata Mud ... load a mobile with T and let the mortals loose on it with sticks .. every so often items ar edropped by the Mo as it gets weaker
Giant bash - just in Giants area
Similarly - just in pagoda or dwarfs
Super snooper - give all mortals snoop powers / track powers and see what happens!
No magic bash?
Admittedly a few of these ideas have been used before... but not for ages....

OgreBall - two teams start with novices and have to get the match ball to their team's goal ogre, and feed it to him, to score a point. The ball has an effect similar to the uranium on the players carrying it. 15 minutes each way. Possibly on a specially designed OgreBall pitch. When your novice/protector dies, you just start another one and join back in.
Or Pacman, with the pacman maze and ghosts and that.

Folly the sorcerer says "plague - one player starts out with mudflu, and
the last player to catch it wins".
Folly the sorcerer says "whack a mole, you hit the mole and it appears
somewhere else. most whacks wins.".

Folly the sorcerer says "pony roulette. there is a 1/6 chance for the
pony to send you to the fiery pit. everyone takes it in turns.".

So please write any suggestions down here
|
|
Some raw ideas:
One scenario:
Limited numbers of weapons and items for each team (maybe they choose 5?)
Teams can get more tools or weapons if they complete challenging tasks or for T they collect.
Tasks could be something akin to ?kill all the bees? with certain bees in far flung locations, etc. etc.
Maybe players could steal weapons/items/fight with other teams?
Winner is the team that completes the most tasks in the allotted time?
Another scenario (the Amazing Race scenario):
Teams (again with limited or similar items) try to get to pit stops for clues and tasks to advance to the next round.
Pit stops could be: give the man something and he gives you your next clue/task, or locate a pit stop in Evil wood so that you have to kill the twins to reach that pit stop.
Not sure how the teams would compete against each other in this scenario.
Maybe staggered starts? Or they can u-turn other teams?
Other suggestions: structuring it so that teams are well rounded. Include a (relatively simple) math or word puzzle for puzzlers on teams as one of the clues, etc. Weapons wouldn?t need to be top tier making it more necessary for players to team up to kill mobiles.
Prizes: perhaps allowing members of the winning team to choose their own prefixes (within reason) for a week.

Two or more tams - could be pairs - possibly wiz selected combinations to give some sort of even start - then challenge is to see which team can score most in either a set period of time - 30 mins or 60 mins - could limit it to T points, total points or combat points

I've had a flash of inspiration based on a game style I've been a part of several times in big even D&D challenges. It'll take me a long time to write, but it'll be worth it, trust me. It'll require 2 teams of equal numbers... nothing like ogreball .

So you're not going with any of our suggestions above then?

Firstly: Ogreball is ready when you are players and
Secondly: I've played with the majority of the ideas above, just they haven't turned into an event yet.. I've had pinyatas, edible hats, mudflu and mage war tests. Don't worry Vully .

Who wants an event or 2?
I have a few ideas..
Firstly, we still have to get our Ogreball on!
Secondly, I have my Dungeon Challenge to run after we've have some ogretastic fun.
Thirdly, I had an idea for a "Challenge the Mortals" event.
If you're interested in ANY of these.. let me know.. we ought to get Ogreball going though, seeing as I coaxed Turrican to help with some aspects..

I'm game but, given time zones, weekends are better for me. Would like to hear more about the last two events too .
