Hand Gliding - an amazing new sport where people jump off cliffs waving hands furiously?

Is hand gliding a new sport?

I could have called it hang gliding, but I'm sticking with hand gliding

- dig a tunnel, like in Shawshank, just a bit quicker.

This is easy.

with apologies to an old time myth......

Collect all the metal you can and get to the dwarf forge, where you can make a B-29 if you know how to use the poker. The ventilator is its propeller, and it may help if you can get the cannon on board. The command to take off is 'contact'. Aim for the keep - do a wide u turn and come back over the river. Oh, and don't fly too low or you'll crash into the Cottage.

Hawumph - 9 (after duplicates and rule breakers - I'm retroactively excluding making wiz as a valid answer)

More answers on answers:

* Different mobiles doing the same thing to you still counts as one way.
* For the summoning answer - you're missing a detail. Try it and see!
* About "no help from players" - for that I mean no interaction with players at all - so you must be able to do this on a reset in which no other player joins.
* Quite possibly Kiwi has eliminated one of theirs and my answers. I'll have to check to confirm.

I forgot at least one from my list.

Do we just do multiple posts, and if so, in full or just additions to our list?

Arch-wiz - wizzes can't do it

Damn. I thought I'd come up with a new one (force a mobile to "zw.zw" and have it fail) but it doesn't fit the definition "without crossing the river itself". And a failed force of "o" at a location is just a duplicate. Hmm..

I'm counting distinct uses of a single object as different answers. Also same uses of a pair of objects as the same. Probably only fair to point that out.

Hawumph has one that no-one else has got yet. Hawumph is missing one that Folly and Kaif have got. There's one left between you all that no-one has yet. I have a list of 15.

Maybe a zipline from the top of Il Castellare to the Inn?

Or para-sailing with the bedspread.

The reed might work for pole vaulting.

Hmmm...

Hehe. No to this one. I specifically excluded it (unless you know a way out once you've crossed the river): "and no getting stuck (i.e. carried across the river by the thief while inside an object that you can't get out of). "

Re: "Fox will pick up the xxx and eventually carry it, and hence you, west of the river."

How long are you letting this run before you give us final scores and any new "havoc's hints"

Here's the grand finale, the one I didn't think anyone would get. I did this just now to prove it out (the summon worked first time!)

Northeast pasture.
A handsome pony is standing in one corner of the field.
*<mystery mystery>
<mystery mystery mystery>
*w
Open field.
A handsome pony is standing in one corner of the field.
*s
Low forest.
A handsome pony is standing in one corner of the field.
*rs
Your spell works!
Stable.
Standing in one corner of the stable is an old, blacksmith's anvil. A gaily-coloured decorative ribbon lies strewn on the floor.
The power of the magic has put you to sleep!
*se
You can't wake yourself up yet!
*se
You wake up!
Your stamina is 120.
Ford across river.
*e
Ford in river.
*e
Driveway.
*summon pony.<mystery mystery>
Your spell worked!
The pony has been summoned.
A handsome pony is standing in one corner of the field.
*<mystery mystery mysery>
Paddock.
(116/120).
*reset
Time-stamp: 05:04:03 on 24-JUL-2015.
This is reset 71792, using slot 0.
An auto-reset will be initiated in approximately 50 minutes.

I included the reset number here so that curious wizzes can delve into logs for answers.
