There's actually four options for "Doing one kind of thing to a decorative / practical room fixture", if we're talking about the same room fixture, and a different musical aspect too that you don't appear to have mentioned...

Does it take you to a different place than the other methods? Check with Hawumph to see if it's a new one or not. That way you don't have to worry abut tellng me something I did t know.

Indeed, there are a number of special methods of traveling to other places quickly in The Land of MUD2.
Some are less obvious than others.
