I've often said that 'Dense forest' is the MUD2 room name equivalent of 'Smith'. 
I'm sure the multiple dense forests, and the confusion they cause, are intentional. Yes, it's annoying to WH something and get 'dense forest', as it's really only one step above something like 'I can't tell you where it is, you'll have to go and look for yourself'. But at least you have a general idea of where to look. And if you do a certain Task, you'll be able to know which dense forest location the WH is referring to.

It's a bit more important, and useful, to have multiple rooms with the same name if you're trying to dodge a PK ...
