Ask anyone on Mud what they think of when someone says Christmas and 42% of them will say "Sorcerer Wars!".
So,thats why next Wednesday we will be holding a special Christmas event. With special weapons, loads of real life and game related prizes and death and carnage on an unprecedented scale, you better be there or...be with your families probably.
Wednesday 23rd of December. 21:00

Sigh.
Christmas is a time of peace and goodwill. Unless you're King Herod, it shouldn't be a time of violence and carnage.
Long ago, I helped veto things like Sorcerer Wars and stuff in favor of special Treasure Hunt events. Now that I'm not as active in MUD2 as I used to, it seems the more bloodthirsty people around here just can't put their bloodlust on hold for the sake of the holidays.
What does this say about MUD2 players, really?
Sigh.

Don't confuse the real world of MUD with the virtual world of Christmas!

Zalagar, clearly you need to come into mudii more often. The place is falling to bits without you. Christmas morality has been lost. What's next?? I think you should stage an anti-violence protest at the sorc war. Maybe a wiz could make you some signs that say 'give peace a chance' and 'Harrods not Herods'. I would come out in support!

I appreciate what you're saying about sorcerer wars at Christmas time, Zalagar, however different people enjoy different kinds of events. We can never cater for everyone at the same time but what we have tried to do is alternate between a chrismassy scavenger hunt and a christmas-themed sorcerer war each year.
This year we have a sorcerer war, complete with christmassy items to add an extra twist.

More details for the sorcerer war:
- The player with the highest score at the end of the event will win.
Points can be gained by killing other players or from their flees. You lose points if you flee yourself. If you quit the game your score will be reset to zero. High treasure swamping will be discouraged.
- Re-sorcerisation will last for 45 minutes, after this time you will not be able to re-enter the event. You will get fair warning when this deadline is approaching.
- There will be extra weapons and other items, all with a festive theme, scattered around The Land.
- FODding will be not be allowed during this event.
The winner of the event will win ?20 worth of Amazon vouchers. The runner up will win ?10 worth of Amazon vouchers. The winner and two runners up will each win a festive prefix in colour that will last until the New Year.
Good luck and see you on Wednesday at 9pm game time!
