Does anyone know if it is possible to connect to the game with an Iphone?
If so, just know that it took me 2 hours to find where to insert the sim card!!!
Any tips appriciated.

I take it back. On doing a google search I found:
The iPhone will not support Java applications of any kind. Steve Jobs has been quoted as saying "Java's not worth building in. Nobody uses Java anymore. It's this big heavyweight ball and chain."
A bit of an odd thing to say considering "iphone java" generates 37M hits, but there you go. Apparently there are workarounds, from my brief scan of the other search results. The workarounds seem fairly difficult (one even suggests converting the source code of the program into a different language).
I did however find a couple of telnet programs designed specifically for the iphone. You could try one of these:

http://www.instantcocoa.com/products/pTerm/
If neither of those are good try googling "telnet iphone" to see if there are any others around.
You'll be doing basically the same thing as I described in my article, but using one of those programs. So you'll have to figure out how to install it and put in the settings, etc. The application's website will hopefully contain guidance on how to do that.
