Hello! I've been playing Mud2.com for about a week or so when suddenly without warning, someone else actually logged on! They told me about mudii and how it's slightly more alive than mud2 and decided to register and check it out.
I'm a bit hesitant because contrary to the referer's belief, I am new to MUDs  . (Only experience was a day or two ten years ago) I gotten a bit in a comfort zone with MUD2 and I'm a bit weary with playing with veterans.. I dunno, I'm still trying to find my way around MUDs and I know the point of MUD is playing with people but I dunno, in my experience it's a bit different when the only other people are elites. :\
The mobile bash thing sounds fun though, if you guys still do it on Thursday's I'll probably drop by.

Yay, welcome indeed. I am the last person qualified to give you advice how to play the game. But I will say this: it is much more satisfying finding out for yourself how to do things and not ask other players and also investigate the use of clients. For one thing it enables you to keep a record of your game, called a log, which you can study afterwards again and again.

For advice - make a map, don't get (too) attached to your persona.

I started making a map a few days ago and was one of the reasons I was unsure about moving here. But it's the same layout as far as I can tell so it's all good. And yeah, I just lost my persona at 2000pts so I've learned that lesson.  As long as I don't die die without knowing why.
